Charm city, The City That Reads, The City of Firsts; these are only some of Baltimore’s nicknames. The birth place of the U.S. national anthem, what else would you expect in a destination that is richly varied in its characters and its attractions. There is so much to do here, whether with a family or on your own, that even with a week to kill you’ll barely make a dent. Museums, music, sports, history, performing arts, diverse neighborhoods and culinary exploration — they’re all here and within walking or water-taxi distance.
The Port of Baltimore was impressive. Lined with cargo ships from around the world. Almost 10 miles distance from the entrance to the inner harbor, it was marked by automobile terminals to lumber, steel and ships repair terminals. We maneuver the channel like a fly on the wall, out of everyone’s way before heading for the inner harbor marina.
With Camden Yards a short walk away, my first inclination is to catch some good games in town but the Orioles are away at Toronto and the Ravens tickets are impossible to find. Also Claudia, our ship’s official cruise director, dictates our social calendar, did not endorse any of my sports nonsense, it’ll be cultural and history for the day. Looks like we’ll be off to the Visionary Art museum, Fort McHenry, Federal Hill, Fells Point and Top of the World observation tower. Gonna be a busy day.
Hi guys β checking in and catching up on your wonderful adventures. Tim will be so envious, Jim, that you were at Fort McHenry. I know itβs a place he would love to see. Your adventures are awesome, as are both of you, and we wish your safety with the storms coming up your way. Enjoy!
I would love to have Tim there to enjoy the history with us. He gets such joy learning and seeing our past. We’ll get together at some point and make sure it’s somewhere historical.
Good morning Fujiko crew. How did your rigging inspection goπ
Morning Karen, we are getting ready to move the boat from the city moorings to a boatyard. The riggers are coming between 10 and 11 to perform the inspections. Crossing my fingers. Thanks for checking in Karen!
So glad you have reached this destination and can take some time to relax and enjoy what the city has to offer! Really enjoying the history you are sharing with all of us. Your pictures are also a real treat! If Claudia is doing her exercise and steps on the boat, maybe you can install a basketball hoop on the boat, Jimmy, so you can challenge her to a game! Miss you!!
Great idea Rhonda about the basketball hoop. May be if you and Dave can visit us at some part of our trip, Dave can help me install the hoop and play 1-on-1.
You know it, Jimmy!! I love to travel so Iβm ready to meet you bothβ¦maybe Charleston??
Absolutely Rhonda! You and Dave are our favorite people and are always welcome. Please make any arrangements with my Cruise Director as I’m only the driver.
Hi guys,
The pictures are incredible and the commentary is so exciting that I feel like I am with both of you! Claudia, go easy on Jimmy π
Karen, I will try πππ.. thanks for comments we loved them.. also, thanks for getting me a great bird sitter too π¦π§
Miss you
Exciting to read. I figured out how to use this. I feel like I am with you. My computer has been hacked again. My computer repairman is going to gut it. A half hour after I got it home the hacker started to move the arrow on my screen. Freeky. He was in my browser this time. I am going to a graphology conference today but your day looks more interesting. Continue having fun.
Thanks Betty Anne !! Glad you have a guy looking into your PC, make sure he installs Norton antivirus (or some anti virus software). Also, thanks about the hurricane warning (we’ll keep an eye on her). FYI , if you use the post on the main screen it sends us an email vs. on the follow along page it will show up on the post once we review them.
Have fun at conference, I know you’ll have a good story to tell when it’s done πππ
