Claudia was motivated to get an early start. Wanting to try her luck with Blackjack at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, she woke me up to get an early start.
Getting out of Barnegat Inlet was again a challenge but not at all like yesterday. We quickly raised the sail and headed south. I charted a course 5 miles off-shore to gain more favorable conditions. It’s easier to deal with larger swells outside than choppy seas in.
Entertainment has been Atlantic City’s middle name for a long time and visitors arriving by boat are very much included in the web of attractions here. We pulled into the state’s downtown marina managed by the Golden Nugget casino, home of the numerous fishing tournaments. Michael Jordan on his 80′ yacht frequently participated.
Can’t afford to make mistakes, we docked like a pro, as many boat show visitors, each one a boat maneuvering expert, watched, anticipated and hoping for us to screw up as part of their entertainment (after all they did paid $25 for entrance fee). We would have non of that!! Soon as we landed, Claudia bolted for the blackjack tables and leaving me to wash down and clean up the boat.
We now rest and play for two days before heading to Cape May.
Hope you won big Claudia. Your getting closer to VA.
Hi Sarah, Claudia did great at Atlantic city. She won about $250 at blackjack. I however lost $30 betting on NFL parley. We had some chex mix yesterday underway and we always compare our mix to yours, the ones you used to make for us. We could never replicate the greatness. You need to share your secret with us.
Love that you were in Atlantic City after Barnegat! It’s the perfect combo of gambling for Claudia and the boat show for additional entertainment for both of you. Enjoy Cape May!!
Thanks Karin, I check out the casino for you .. I think you should book the Ocean resort.. 💕💕💕 Miss playing BJ with you 💋
Hey Jim, While Claud was gambling did you run into any Fishermateagues in the downtown marina?
With the “ Golden Nugget “ in charge there had to have been a few!
Absolutely, Gilly. An example was while checking out the boat show, a man was asked by a salesman on what’re his main interests in boating. Is it fishing? Is it cruising? Is it for vacationing? This guy seriously said “no”, I’m interested in partying. That’s the mentality of skippers around here.
Nice job teaching Angelina as next generation skipper. Keep up the great work Gil.
Hi Jimmy, that response of “Partying” for some reason doesn’t surprise me. Angelina is taking to boating on the Watuppa like a duck to water. No Fishermateagues in our family’s. Safe travels!
Love your writeup😁 Good luck Claudia!
Thanks Sandy. So far Claudia is down $25 on blackjack and I spend $75 on a UV sunshirt at the boat show. Her logic says she spends less so she’s ahead. Glad you and Kelly are enjoying Shay.
