Decidedly different and easily accessible, Cape May is a Jersey Shore destination deserving of special consideration & wildly recognized as the nation’s oldest seaside resort. If your vessel is bounded to ports beyond the Jersey coast, it’s not only a safe and convenient stopover, it’s also a fascinating place to visit on its own.

We left Atlantic City under overcast conditions. Heading off-shore 3 miles brought us gentle swells. Not much wind so we turned on the engine following a 250 degree compass course. As part of her normal routine,ย  Claudia (Lady Elvis) took out her ukulele andย  started her daily therapy by playing “Twist & Shout”. Soon into the chorus, a pod of dolphins appeared out of nowhere and started following us.ย  They swam and entertained us for the next 10-15 minutes before disappeared into the deep. That was quite uplifting. Thank you Lady Elvis for enticing those magical dolphins’ to come out and play.

We entered Cape May harbor and fueled up before tied up for the night. Lots to do tomorrow besides touring downtown, we also need to provision for groceries and tackle various boat chores, then get ready for Delaware Bay.
