Another day, another anchorage at the beautiful Bonds Cay in very quiet weather, but that won’t be the case soon. Weather forecast for Friday and Saturday calls for strong front passing through with winds gusting to 40-45 knots. This is a great place to hangout before heading to our marina on Friday.
The anchorage at Bonds Cay was very nice, with only one other sailboat nearby, but there wasnβt much to do or see there. So we decided to chill and do some fishing and spearing for lobsters. We dinghied and snorkeled near a rock formations and quickly saw a lobster hiding in a sand hole. We went back to the dinghy to fetch our new Hawaiian Sling (spear gun with rubber bands) but the lobster was gone when we came back. No other lobster to be found afterwards. Better luck next time. Claudia tried her luck at fishing from the boat but nothing worthy of catching was available.
Next day, there were some important housekeeping tasks that needed attention to. Mostly importantly, we needed to color Claudia’s beautiful hair. This was the first time we’ve ever colored her hair on the boat. She dressed like a surgeon, wearing scrub and gloves, meticulously applied the special organic coloring with a brush as I helped her on the backside. Then she got on the swim ladder and I rinsed her hair on the stern of our boat. This was a monumental feat that had to be done and it went off without a hitch. You ladies out there knows exactly what this means and how important it was.
We ate dinner and watched a most magnificent sunset. Looking forward to going to Chub Cay staying at a marina for next few days with modern conveniences and provisioning.
Wow a hairstylist too!! A man of many talents!!! Love all the beautiful pics. This is surely a trip of a lifetime.
Hi Claire, Thanks so much !! Once you and Sean retire I’m sure you’ll go back home Ireland/Europe and travel too πππ.
Jim, you can add hair stylist to your resume now!! Maybe a part time job for you when you come home!!! ππ Good work, Jim. Thanks for bringing us all on an adventure that many of us can only dream of! The color of that water is breathtaking! Miss you both so much! Enjoy!! π₯°
Thanks Rhonda. Cutting hair is similar to visual navigation on the water, you line up between the buoys and cut straight through. Piece of cake. Coloring hair is not unlike cooking. You rub Coloring into the hair like kneading a dough. Voila! Be glad to do your hair and Dave’s as well.
Claudia, have you ever think of not coloring your hair anymore? My are Gray now and I would not go back to color. It is less trouble and it is not true that woman with Gray hair look older, you should give it a Try while you are away, so you will see if you like that!. And Jim, Denis says that YOU are the best sailor he as ever met! You two went to Bermuda, not us. Have fun friends!
Hi Marie-France, I have not thought about going Grey π§. However, I will give it a try since I ran out of color π. I’ll take before and after pictures and text you. Thanks again for your kind words about Jim and following us.π
Good for Jim. Dennis had to do my hair during covid. Two great Menβ¦..keepers. Claudia does Jim cut your hair too?
Hi Sharon, You are correct!! Two great men and the best captains too π.. No, Jim does not cut my hair yet .. However, it’s thin out with my thyroid disease ..so not too much too cut πππ© Miss you guys and thanks for following us tooπ
Glad to hear that you arrived safely at your destination. Had a wonderful visit and lunch with your brother this week. Hugs and kisses to you both.
Thanks Betty Ann, I also heard you picked up another part time gig. Can’t wait to hear all about it when I get back. We are hunker down at this great marina while a storm pass thru. π
