After spending a week in Titusville, we were ready to move on. But there was one more thing we needed to cross off our list.
A few years ago, one of our dear friends Maureen has moved from Boston to Orlando with her husband Patrick in search of warmer weather and new career opportunities. We reached out to them and they graciously accepted our invitation to meet with us at our boat on our last day in Titusville.
Maureen and I worked at Wellesley College for many years and spent time with other colleagues in an environment that had a trusting and strong workplace culture, so seeing her and her well natured husband Patrick was a very special occasion.
The passage of time may have relocated us, changed us, distracted us, and even made us lose track of one another. But In a mere moment back together it is like no time has passed. We spend some time reminiscing about “the old days.” Some times that results in lots of laughter, other times it sobers us as we discuss those who aren’t around anymore. The shared memories connect us and make us more open to deeper communication. And the stories about events you forgot will reopen insights into who you are. They may also remind you of how far you have come and why you don’t want to go backward.
In today’s world, everybody uses social media to connect with others or friends. But there’s nothing like a good old fashion people getting together with friends for laughter, conversations and good-eats. We will always treasure rare and special moments like today.

Hi Diane and Dave, Miss you guys… Merry Christmas and Healthy Happy New Year to you and Dave!!! Thanks for following us 😘😘🥰🥰🥰
What a beautiful post Jim! You are so right about friendship! Sometimes, you are lucky to meet some people that even if you do not see them very often, everytime you get to see them, it is like if it was yesterday that you saw them for the last time. I think that people that have that chance are very lucky people. Have fun! Also, we just can’t wait to see you with the yellow flag on your arrival to the Bahamas! When do you plan to cross the Gulf Stream? Stay safe!
You’re so right Marie-France. We think of you and Denis often and we always look back and remember all the great memories we’ve had on Block island, Montreal and Boston. We’re heading towards Miami slowly and will be crossing from Noname harbor to the Biminis. We’ll be watching carefully for a good weather window. As you know, that’s the most critical part of a good crossing of the Gulf Streams.
